MISSION STATEMENT
4D Nashville’s mission is to provide temporary housing and educational resources for citizens displaced due to income reduction/loss as a direct result of the Covid-19 circumstance.
VISION STATEMENT
We positively impact and improve the lives of all future residents through education and elevation, leading to new housing and financial security.
HOW IT WORKS
The 4D Housing Initiative is a program designed to help those displaced by the Covid-19 circumstance. We offer rooms on a sliding-scale and a boot camp of classes aimed at getting you back on your feet.
The program requires that all qualifying adults attend our Time To Redefine Boot Camp (T2R) which includes two required courses and various electives based around mental, physical, and spiritual health. Each week you will be responsible to attend the required classes.
GETTING STARTED
You will find an outline of our program, how to qualify, along with the cost and requirements affiliated with participation below.
If you have your qualifying information but do not have access to make copies before you come, it is ok! We have developed our platform entirely on Google, so all you will need is a Gmail address and a smart phone to get started. Below are the first few steps you need to take to become part of the 4D Housing Initiative.
WHY 4D?
The naming of our project comes from the concept of the fourth dimension of space-time. If there is a silver lining to the recent global slow-down, it’s that we have time to reflect. We now have time to better ourselves and our situation. 4D Nashville wants to help you get back on your feet. In short, we will provide the space and you spend the time working towards new goals.
One insight that many of us have gained over the last few months is that we have been missing out. We compete to keep up with the fast-paced, screen-based world and we forget, or can’t afford, to take time. Time to invest in yourself, your family and in your future. Often, we think we can hold off until tomorrow, but the truth is now is all we have.
In our decision to create 4D Nashville, we considered that for most on the planet, this would be a time of transformation and change. Many things have been said about change, but change along with time are two of the only constants in this world. Change often leads to adaptation. Adaptation to transformation, and transformation leads to a new life.
As many of us face uncertainty in housing and income, 4D Nashville was created to give back to those that keep the wheels of this great city turning. We wanted to build a program to ease the monetary hardships of these unprecedented times, while offering you tools to improve your situation.
4D Nashville is more than a housing initiative offering discounted room rates. It is a movement from one chapter to the next. It requires determination, dedication, development, and devotion to creating a new outlook for tomorrow. Let’s get started today!
DO YOU QUALIFY?
The 4-D Housing Initiative at Hillside is for individuals and families displaced as a direct outcome of job loss or a ≥50% reduction in hours/pay resulting in eviction due to the Covid-19 circumstance. Below are the documents you will need to provide to qualify for our program. You will need to have proof of at least one bullet point from each bold header.
You can provide proof of previous/present employment:
- Termination letter
- Most recent pay stubs showing a year-to-date gross income
- Reduction In Hours Form
- Qualifying Separation Determination (State Issued Unemployment Notice)
You have come from, and can provide proof of, an established residency:
We are looking for at least three months of established residency to qualify for our program. If you are currently “homeless,” and came from an established residency of ≥ 3 months, you may qualify for emergency housing assistance with our program (see FAQs).
- Copy of your current lease
- Billing Statement with your current address
- Government ID showing current address
You are actively being evicted or are ≥ 2 months past due:
- Copy of eviction letter with timeline of eviction
- Copy of past due notice with total amount due and due date
WHAT DOES IT COST?
We are offering temporary housing on a sliding-scale, in return for your participation in our Time To Redefine Boot Camp (T2R). We know everyone’s budget and expenses are different. That is why we have opened our program and benefits to those facing a housing crisis due to the Covid-19 circumstance. Once you apply and are approved, we will explore your expenses and try to find a rate that works for your budget. While we do have minimum weekly payments, we want to work with each individual family to help them get back on their feet the right way. We also require a small security deposit and additional pet deposits.
BIOGRAPHY
Bio of Charles H Wilson, written from his notes and bullet points.
Charles H. Wilson is one of Tennessee’s newest real estate agents, obtaining his licensure in early 2019. He found a home with Village Real Estate and has branded himself the Agent of Nashville. Having fallen in love with the city’s quaint old-neighborhood charms, intermingled with fresh construction and old warehouses turned studio flats, Charles is extremely passionate about his new career and helping people find their first home or their forever home. In Nashville’s seemingly “overnight” market, he has already helped several families find exactly what they had been seeking.
Mr. Wilson is not your typical real estate agent. Having traveled globally since an early age, Charles has lived in Germany (twice), Colorado, Tennessee (twice), Alabama, Louisiana, New York and London (twice). In his formative years, his travel was spurred by his father’s 21-year enlistment as active infantry in the US army.
When Charles started forging his own way in life, he found himself attending multiple universities, one through athletic scholarship, and eventually obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science. During this time, he worked as an intern at Big Talk Productions. That new residency would eventually find Mr. Wilson on the other side of the agency lens. It was here that he was scouted and placed with Select Model Management. Charles returned to London to work on extravagant sets for companies like Heineken, Nautica, and Dolce and Gabana, among others. In 2015, he returned to the states and continued his modeling career in New York City. After a few years in the Big Apple, and wanting to start a new chapter in life, he convinced his then “future wife” to move to Tennessee. They eloped, moved to Nashville and the rest is history.
Charles H. Wilson brings his love of working with people to his passion for real estate. But with all the cities and all the professions one could have, we were curious. So we asked Mr. Wilson, why real estate and why Nashville?
“The world is changing and I’m always trying to adapt and change with it. It is becoming less structured and more fluid. I feel a career in real estate offered something stable but without set hours. Most of us have more than one passion in life. Most real estate agents do too. I love coaching soccer and working in fashion. I am still able be involved in those things while serving my clients.
My wife and I chose Nashville because we were looking for a less expensive option to NYC. We wanted to move to a city that had room to grow, while we grow our family alongside it. Nashville has a lot in store. We wanted to be a part of something special. ”
His love of helping others doesn’t stop at real estate or selling pants. He enjoys playing soccer and lends his time working as an assistant coach at East Nashville High School in the springs.
“I’m also a big Alabama football fan, but I paid a lot of money for that right.”
Roll Tide, Charles, Roll Tide.
It didn’t take him long to support local, boasting enthusiasm for the work of Thistle Farms and looking to volunteer at some animal rescue shelters. He loves pit bulls, how Thistle Farms almost certainly saved a friend of his, video games, working with creatives, and he continues to dabble in the modeling and acting industry (you guessed it, on both sides of the lens).

THE MESSAGE
This past summer into fall, Joseph’s album: I’m Alone, No You’re Not resonated so deeply with my need to find salvation and direction in my life, that I had been binging it for weeks. Maybe even months. I had been soaking my soul in their record, absorbing each and every emotion emitting from those 3-5 minute increments.
They offered words of support and encouragement, tales of longing and loss, a recipe guide on how to never give up. I comforted myself in the idea of salvation, “I’d rather be dead than live a lie, burn the white flag.” While in the next 246-second segment I was refusing to die a quiet Nashville death, asking for someone to come lend a hand, “screaming under water SOS…did it to myself now I need your help.” What a great album.
The record had been out for three years. I was introduced to it in 2017 during my time as a VJ host at DittyTV. I had segwayed it plenty of times; it was on the show frequently. But it’s funny the way life goes, you know that old chestnut…that record didn’t find me until I needed it. It seemed like it needed me too. That’s the beauty of music, it always has one more story to tell.
FICTION
Excerpt From Fiction
The album spun while Jack began to untangle his fresh start. Each note was a recap of what he had lost. It also reminded him how lucky he had been to have what he did with Charlie. How she lived like a shooting star and died like a champion. How fierce and deep her love was and how she was willing to sacrifice herself in the end. But that made Jack angry. He was still pissed off at her for being so selfish, for wanting what the doctors told them they couldn’t have. Jack wanted her more than he wanted anything and he didn’t care about the rest. Charlie was the one that had talked him into it; she had promised him everything would be ok. They would do their research and they would pull through, better than before, like they always do.
“Jack Leos, we already have our ever after, haven’t you noticed that?” she would say. Then she would break into I Got You Babe, pausing indefinitely while grinning ear to ear, holding an invisible microphone up to his mouth until, protestingly, he would sing Sonny’s part. She could always make him laugh, even when he was mad. Today was no exception. He quietly chuckled as he remembered her, and them, and the us that would never be again. His gentle chuckle turned to soft laughter and slowly became a pouring sob as he sank into a pile amongst the debris on the floor. He hadn’t cried a single tear for her. He promised himself wouldn’t. He swore to her he wouldn’t, but life has a way of breaking things and the dam had reached its limit.
Luna climbed onto Jack’s crumpled legs. She head-butted his chin and lapped his tears as he pulled her close. He took the deepest breath he could and held it in. Luna’s vibrations resonated through his torso. As he clung to her, he could feel his heart pounding. He sipped in even more air, now at full capacity, holding his breath until he became light headed. He could feel his face turning purple as Luna chattered at him to breathe. He collapsed further and lay supine on the floor as he slowly exhaled. Four purring paws settled onto his sternum, cold wet nose to warm wet chin. Jack stared blankly at the ceiling with tears streaming out of the corners of his eyes. Silently they filled his ears like tiny salty oceans, spilling over onto the century old floor. The planks were worn, scuffed and pockmarked from years of factory work, damaged beyond buffing and refinishing. It too had scars and a tragic ending. For Jack, it was the floor that became the selling point. He knew how it felt and now it knew the same of him.
